Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction is a procedure that effectively removes fatty deposits under the skin by using a medical laser. Ultrasonic liposuction uses a medical laser and sound waves that liquefy fat cells for optimal removal of fatty deposits under the skin. Sometimes diet and exercise alone is not enough for toning and sculpting the body because accumulations of fat deposits under the skin remain and are unaffected. The best candidates for the surgery are individuals who are only moderately overweight and have healthy skin.

People that have tried diet and exercise for losing weight often have leftover fatty areas on the body that seem to be stubborn and unaffected. A person may not be able to tone those areas of the body where fat deposits are left. Laser liposuction is better than regular liposuction because it allows for more precision. Safety is less of a concern with the procedure and recovery time is less than traditional surgery. However, a patient should understand that it takes a few weeks to really see the difference. This is usually after the incisions heal and bruising goes away.

A small tube is inserted under the skin and it is connected to a vacuum that is used to suck fat from the body. The popularity of these types of operations is growing because the way they are performed is becoming less invasive and recovery time is less. The areas of the body that can be treated include the breasts, highs, hips, buttocks, stomach, knees, legs, abdomen, neck, and even areas on the face, such as the cheeks and chin. While considering a change in the body that God has given, remember to pray and seek Him for guidance. "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:20).

Advances in technology have led to better and safer ways to rid the body of unwanted fat. Ultrasonic liposuction is one such technique that uses sound waves along with a technique referred to as tumescent. Saline, anesthesia, and adrenaline are injected under the skin. The injection causes swelling under the skin and the sound waves work on fat cells to liquefy the fat without affecting other connective tissues in the body. Using this method of having fat removed is measured in inches lost instead of pounds lost and helps to contour the body and smooth out unacceptable areas that are bulging with fat accumulation.

The best candidates of the procedures are individuals who are within 25 to 30 pounds of their ideal weight and haven't fluctuated in how much they weigh for the last several years. Candidates need to understand that laser liposuction isn't a weight loss plan but is an effective way to rid the body of stubborn fat deposits. The ideal person should be in good health, moderately overweight, and have healthy skin that is firm and elastic.

Recovery time usually takes several weeks but a person can gradually increase activity level 2 to 3 days afterwards but it is very important to rest a full 24 hours right after the surgery. The treated area will be bandaged and should remain so for several weeks. Since ultrasonic liposuction causes less damage to body tissues and less bleeding recovery is usually faster than with other methods. For optimal recovery, listen to the surgeon, drink lots of liquids, eat healthy, and don't do too much the first week after the operation.

The benefits to having liposuction are primarily psychological in nature. Since laser liposuction removes bulging fat deposits under the skin the body becomes smooth and contoured. An individual will have a higher self-confidence level, improved self-esteem and self acceptance. It will raise the quality of one's life allowing a person to feel free to participate in activities such as swimming, surfing, diving, and sunbathing; no longer feeling ashamed or uncomfortable when wearing a bathing suit.

Safety is a major concern for most patients so a surgeon performing the operation should go over the risks involved with having ultrasonic liposuction. Some of the risks involved include but are not limited to permanent scarring, adverse reactions to anesthesia, infection, and skin clumps that can only be fixed by undergoing another procedure to lift the skin. Dehydration can result if the patient is not put on a saline solution during the procedure as well as remembering to drink plenty of fluids afterwards. Bruising can result but will heal and go away within a few weeks. Beforehand make a list of concerns and take advantage of any free consultations in the effort to be aware of all of the risks.

Most physicians use instruments that monitor an individual's heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels during the procedure. Simple operations may only call for local anesthesia and can be done in an outpatient clinic. Complex laser liposuction will call for general anesthesia and will usually be performed in a hospital with the patient staying overnight for observation. The length of the procedure will depend on the severity of the fat cells and how many areas of the body are included.

Conventional diet and exercise are important in maintaining optimal results. A healthy diet and exercise go a long way in helping a person to recover and achieve good results. An individual should exercise and eat well before undergoing ultrasonic liposuction or any type of liposuction. The operation should be considered only after a person has tried to tone the body through exercise for several years and still has fatty deposit that won't budge.
