Refined Sugar Allergies

Refined sugar allergies or sensitivities can lead to obesity and illnesses such as diabetes, autoimmune disease, gallstones, and bowel problems. Eating too much refined sucrose can lead to hormone problems due to the adrenal glands and pancreas having to overwork to bring levels in the blood stream down. Too much sucrose in someone who is diabetic can cause the patient to go into a coma and lead to death. Sugar free recipes can help a person who has diabetes or sensitivity to learn how to cook and eat with sugar free substitutes. The most common substitutes are saccharin, aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame-k.

Eating too much refined or processed foods can cause health problems. In the refining process many foods are robbed of nutrients. The nutrients found in sugar cane no longer exist after the refining process. There are some companies who make organic sucrose or raw sucrose. These are healthier choices made from the juice of the sugar cane since they still contain some nutrients. Refined sugar allergies or sensitivities largely occur because they are consumed in such large quantities especially by those who suffer from symptoms that are relieved by consuming the sweet stuff. This can still be true with organic and raw sucrose substitutes and will still raise a person's blood sugar.

People who have sensitivities to the regular sweet stuff will often exhibit several profound symptoms. These include fatigue, nervousness, depression, brain fog, sensitivity to alcohol, allergies, hypoglycemia, and cravings for sweet foods. People who have these types of symptoms should largely consider using alternative sweeteners and limiting their intake of sucrose. There are many sugar free recipes found on the Internet that can help to convert current recipes using alternative sweeteners. For these people sucrose may actually act like a drug would; when sucrose is consumed they experience a high but it does not last long until the symptoms return and so another fix is needed to feel better.

Some sources believe that the regular sweet stuff puts a strain upon the body when it is digested. The first thing the substance does is to cause an acidic condition in the body. In the effort to digest sucrose the body uses stored nutrients from other vital areas. Refined sugar allergies may largely be caused from the effects that it has on the liver, the pancreas, and eventually the heart and kidneys. When the liver has reached its capacity to store then fatty acids enter the bloodstream and invade other areas of the body some stored as excess fat and others as invaders to organs and tissues. "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us; Selah. That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise Thee, O God; let all the people praise Thee. (Psalm 67:1-3).

When foods are the cause of an allergy then the only real way to get relief is to avoid the substance. In order to avoid sucrose a person will have to be vigilant and determined because the sweet stuff is an ingredient in many foods and drinks. People who suffer with refined sugar allergies may find that they suffer from an addiction that might be difficult to avoid. To try and find out if a person has sensitivity to sucrose he or she should keep track of cravings and symptoms by keeping a food dairy for about a week then try to get off of it for a week to see if it makes a difference on the symptoms. Once the sucrose habit is kicked then the symptoms may totally disappear. White flour products are refined and in the refining process are stripped of their nutrients. In addition, some white flour products are bleached and then some nutrients are added back into it. People who are sensitive to sugar may also be sensitive to white flour products and other processed foods.

People who are sensitive to the regular refined sweet stuff may experience a surge of energy when they eat something sweet. They will experience a surge in blood sugar, a rise in adrenaline, but may also experience nervousness, and irritability. Eating too many sweet foods can cause a person to become obese. Obesity can cause a host of problems within the body. Some of these include diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, hardening of the arteries, autoimmune disease, gallstones, and heart disease. In today's world consumers have a host of products to choose from that contain alternative sweeteners. Many of these alternative sweeteners can be used in sugar free recipes and taste very good. Consumers are offered more choices that are healthier replacements to white sugar and white flour products. Whole grains and alternative sweeteners are readily available. Even fast food establishments are putting healthier alternative items on their menus.

Baking with alternative sweeteners is much easier to do today because most of them have a ratio equivalent on their packaging that provides the information of substituting them for the sucrose in a recipe. If they do not have this information it can be found on the Internet by doing a search on sugar free recipes. Some alternative sweeteners are better for baking than others because high temperatures can retard their sweetness. Some sources believe that alternative sweeteners may not be good for the body. There are other more natural sweeteners that can be found at most health food stores. When a person decides to make dietetic changes he or she should consult their physician especially if there are some health concerns. To get even more benefit from positive diet changes implementing exercise will help the body to recover from the changes and provide energy and a sense of well-being.
