An early symptom of fibromyalgia is fatigue accompanied by muscle pain and stiffness. Fibromyalgia or FMS is somewhat of a mystery to the medical community as the cause has not yet been discovered. Research has shown that it can be associated with other rheumatic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and other connective tissue disorders. When a patient is in pain with the syndrome they may feel like the pain is more related to the nerves than the muscles and soft tissues because becoming nervous or anxious makes the pain worse.
